35 and Fine…It’s a Celebration!

It’s a celebration ya’ll! YAS!  Last month, we celebrated our 35th birthday in Cancun and let me tell you it was much needed! It has seriously been two years since me and my hubby were able to celebrate due to the numerous military trainings and deployments!!! (Dual military is definitely not fun sometimes)

Turning 35 was such a big deal to me and not in the good way at first….I will be honest.

Turning 35 to me meant:

  • I am pretty much 40

  • I am getting more grey hair

  • Oh and OMG I am almost 40

  • Also my kids are almost teenagers

AND

  • I am almost 40!

BUT...Let’s get back to the trip!

It was important on this trip that my hubby and I enjoyed our time together, reconnected, made up for lost time, and tried a few things we have never done before.

The first thing on our agenda was to enjoy the beach! If you have been following me long enough, then you know that my favorite place to be is near the ocean and listening to the waves!

Our next adventure was exploring the city of Tulum, go swimming in some awesome cenotes and go snorkeling!

I was most proud of myself during our Cancun adventure because I am soooooo claustrophobic and then you add water and put me in a sinkhole!!! ( Girl what were you thinking?!)

BUT….I did it! I faced my fears and made it all happen! My hubby was such a great support !

Our next few days in Cancun included a pirate adventure, shopping, dancing, and enjoying more of that beautiful beach I was telling you about.

Our trip would not be complete without some …

Self Reflection (You already knew that was coming)

Although in the beginning I was so annoyed by the fact:

  • I was turning 35 because it was so close to 40

  • I just felt old…

I had to stop myself and start over!

I am extremely blessed to be 35 years old!

My hubby and I know some that did not make it to see 35 years old.

Together we have accomplished so much within our careers, marriage, and raising our family.

We are so much wiser now than we were in our 20s.

It’s kind of like the 20s you are still figuring it all out

Your 30s you start to find your rhythm

By my 40s, I’ll fine tune this journey!

Each year I am growing and becoming a better version of myself!

So don’t freak out about getting older!

Enjoy the ride and continue to be the best version of you!
